I was making a cross country move that was taking place during the height of the pandemic, Compass was godsend. We had to contend with time zone differences, and although I was able to work seamlessly with their website selecting homes from afar - she worked with me to physically visit several when I came into town. But we ultimately ended up doing it all remotely using Facetime for the walkthroughs while she provided detailed descriptions of the area and what she was experiencing. I was lucky enough to have family nearby who could follow up and she was available to let them in to take a look after I made my decision. Timing was of the essence and we worked well as a team to get the deal done relatively quickly. She worked with her team and mine to keep everyone on task to get to my closing table. After an emotionally charged year, and with the normal stress that comes with a life changing move - Megan's professionalism took a lot of the stress out of the process. She had the answers I needed to my questions and was extremely responsive. Then after I moved in, she referred me to a contractor, that built a beautiful custom set of bookshelves and closet for me.

Eileen was an invaluable asset to helping us buy a home in a very limited geographical area in Berkeley. We wanted to buy a home that was walking distance to amenities and to our children's school so it took us a very long time ~a year to find the right home. Anytime I saw a home that was interesting, I'd ask Eileen about it and she would always come back with very detailed information about exactly how much she thought it was worth, how much it would likely go for and she'd always come back with insightful information. When the houses sold, they'd always sell for sometimes exactly what Eileen thought it would go for. I knew I was in the right hands when I finally found the home that I actually wanted to make an offer on. The house had just gone on the market, Eileen and I visited it the very next day. She has been in the real estate world in Berkeley for so long that she is very well connected with all the agents in the area. In Berkeley's competitive real estate market where each home gets on average 4-5 offers, I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have an agent like Eileen who has relationships and knows the other agents that are also working in the area. Our offer was ultimately in competition with 5 other offers and it was the first offer we wrote together and we won! The trickiest and most nerve wracking part is getting the offer price right and this is where Eileen really shines. In addition to her own insights, she was able to find and sleuth out information on comps in the area that was still pending. We could not have gotten this house without Eileen's help. Eileen's team helped keep everything on track during the closing period and we closed very quickly, without any hiccups. Eileen is also an invaluable resource for everything from finding home insurance to all types of different contractors. I found the best insurance rate from her list of insurance agents. I'm so glad we worked with Eileen. She really came through for us every time we needed her.

During these weird pandemic times, I chose Eileen to guide me in purchasing a condominium in the East Bay through the recommendation of another respected real estate professional in another county. Eileen helped me along the process of searching, showings, procuring the loan, reams of virtual paperwork and closing. This can be a stressful process and Eileen’s expertise was reassuring and, essential, actually. She listened to what was important to me, and what was important to me was owning the parking spot that went with the unit. She noticed a discrepancy in the paperwork regarding the parking spot not being included in the Deed, and even though it was late in the process and a lesser realtor would probably have just shuffled it off, she went to bat for me and got the parking spot included in the grant Deed, doing whatever needed to be done to make it right. This is one fantastic realtor! You could not ask for a better professional than Eileen Townsend.

I sold my (beloved) house in Oakland in record time and for a much higher price than I expected. And I absolutely credit Eileen’s skills for this successful sale. From her files, she was able to pull the names of stagers, a sewer guy and a roofer who saved the day when they were needed. She also managed them for me, as I had no time to do that myself. Highly recommend working with Damir Emric from Compass! He was super helpful to us throughout the process (and patient too!). We started looking in February and bought in July, and must have seen over 50 homes with Damir. He was so great about meeting us at our convenience, bringing us to homes multiple times, and walking us through the chaos of disclosure packets. Amazing!

My long-time rental in Berkeley was not the easiest to let go … I donated it for tax purposes and that made it a complicated transaction with many details to watch. Eileen was careful with all the detail … One of Eileen’s strengths is that she recognized what’s needed – both from a “task” perspective and the human perspective … and jumped on it and keep the task moving forward, while paying proper attention to the level of detail needed to comply with complicated legal/tax/paperwork needs, all while being supportive.
